6 Answers
I was diagnosed 6 months ago, am on 100mcg per day, I eat very little as have no appetite, and eat very little fat, carbs etc, and much fruit, veg. Trouble is despite, being a ballet dancer and knowing probably more about fitness than many gym instructors and working out every day losing weight is impossible, my dosage is correct accoding to bloods taken last week, but still weigh 13stone, (5'6") anyone else have this disorder and struggle, am so low because of it.

Once I've slept (usually 3-4pm) I feel much better. My job is very active though!
Do you find diet helps, certain foods etc?

Hi nelly - Regards certain foods, nothing in particular although I think eating good foods as you already do can only be good. Can you imagine eating lots of rubbish, putting the weight on & letting the metabolism deal with that on top of a dodgy thyroid? The time of the month is particularly tiring, but I suppose that goes without saying.
Hi nelly, sorry I was out for a while.Yes it can take a while for your body to appreciate the medication. There is a thyroid support group website - www.thyroidsupportgroup.co.uk , take a look, it actually mentions about diet on there, think I may go back and have a read myself. Hope this is helpful to you, if you want to come back and discuss anything anytime, please feel free!
