It does not appear to be exactly well researched and just shows close ups of barely existent pants on men! I'm female, and if it were women, people would be up in arms, but I digress.....what precisely is the purpose for this programme?

I haven't seen the prog, but as far as research goes, it's probably down to tv limits - in ancient greece the athletes in the olympics were 100% naked.
