I recently took out car insurance for a second car, my first being a lease car through my company. Initially Direct Line told me that my no claims from my company could be taken into account when calculating my no claims bonus. They have now come back to me saying that, as I have not had insurance in my own name for over 4 years it is not applicable and I have to pay an additional �500 premium. I have been driving for 25 years and never lost my no claims bonus also I have not had a claim on my company car. What can I do

My ex was a named driver on mine from the time he learnt to drive. By the time he needed his own insurance some 3 years later the insurers agreed to give him 2 years NC as an incentive to stay with them
