And you know you've made a mistake and now you know not to do it again. Getting upset wont help things, you need to talk to someone in your family or your best mate to help you through the tough times.

Here's a little perspective on your sadness:
Tomorrow I am taking my 63 yr. old mom back to her oncologist to decide whether or not to continue treatments or to just let nature take its course. She is a wonderful mom and woman, to see her struck down like this is what's sad. Do not think for one minute she is thinking about things she did at 16 or 19. (I am not saying your feelings are not valid-as a HS teacher I always take adolescent feelings as real and important.)
If things are really bad speak with your parents, if you have done some wrong things in your short life make amends and move on having learned from it. Listen to your parents now because someday you'll realize they were right on almost EVERYTHING and by then it might be too late for you appreciate them.
