unsecured loan for self employed

Hi,

can anybody help me out here?

I have only a resident in the UK for 6.5 months. I need a minor loan � 5-10.000 as self employed. I can't get it because I have not been a resident for at least one year. Now a business friend of mine who has his own business and lived here for many years with an excellent credit rating is prepared to be a guarantor for me, but I have severe problems finding a lender who will accept that, though in reality there is no risk for them. Does anybody know any bank/lender who would be willing to lend me the above money with a guarantor?
