Scared of flying
Why do I get more scared of flying the more I do it? Shouldm't it be the reverse? My current job requires me to do it twice a week and I'm worried that I won't be able to for much longer.

I (fortunately) don't have to fly for my job but had a trip involving several flights a couple of months ago and went to the docs who prescribed me Valium (the weakest variety there is)
It really works - I feel relaxed but not spaced out or tired.
Not sure whether you'd get a prescription as you fly so often but perhaps you could try a herbal alternative?
Good luck & relax!
I HATE flying, it's the worst thing to do in the whole world, I hyperventilated mid-flight just under a month ago coming back from Faliraki. I usually just have a panic attack and can't breath but I just got to the point where I couldn't breath at all this time. I found that talking to the pilot helps. I was allowed to do this on the flight on the way there and I stopped panicking half as much straight away. He was very reassuring. Whether your problem is chlaustrophobia or a fear of loss of control or crashing, I think getting a couple of valium down your neck and talking to the pilot will help tremendously.
I would suggest that it is general stress that is maifesting itself as this phobia. Flying twice a week is a considerable strain on your system, and this could be causing your body to react in this way. Tranquilers will mask the symptoms, but maybe you should be checked out for general health by your GP, and maybe ask your employers if there is a way you can reduce your frequency of flying, or stay over for a couple of days to make the trip only once, with a break inbetween. You need to address this healt issue, it's not going to go away.
