got a tomato plant stem turnin a dark colour ,the toms are green but turnin brown .any help or advice much appreciated

Definitely blight. Mine have it too - there's nothing you can do to save the fruit or the plant. Get rid of it - do not put on the compost heap or you'll have trouble for years to come.
