what is going on?

i took my grandson to a park today with a lake and we took some bread to feed the ducks that normaly friendly, there were lots of children there trying to feed the ducks.but the ducks wouldnt come near the food, spoke to a person who had walked his dog there for thirty years and said yobs have shot swans signets and birds, he said that kingfishers were there you cant even hear a bird now .what is going on?

There might be more than one thing going on here. The ducks might just not be hungry. At our local pond, in the summer they are not interested in bread - they are happy with whatever they are catching. As for yobs shooting at birds, they ought to be tied to a post and shot repeatedly with an air rifle to see how they like it.
