Why do so many people say Atkins and Atkinson in the same breath? As far as I can see they are completely different diets - one based on reducing carbs, the other based on stimulating the thyroid with dead sea kelp. The question posed in one thread I saw here concerned the 'Atkinson' diet, but the first response referred to the 'Atkins' diet. Personally, I think that the Atkins diet has more credibility and sounds safer than the Atkinson diet. Comments welcome!

Presumably it's because the names sound the same and people confuse the two.
