I can't believe this! That is one of the pictures from the new Macmillan quiz. I just received my copy this morning,and already someone is trying to spoil it.

ok there are no rules on this site and no one can stop you asking or people answering but we have only just got it and we expect this quiz to be a challenge
at least put what quiz it is in the title so people know which quiz you are asking about

Why do folk get annoyed when others use this site for the purpose it was designed, that is, ask questions, post answers?

Some folk are not as good as others when it comes to searching for answers on the internet. If you put in the wrong terms in Go ogle you can come up wi thousands of hits rather than the few that will provide the answer.

nilesquimby is new and the response he got fae a couple of yous was hardly warm now was it?

As I've said many times, if someone asks and I can give an answer, I will do so.

And I will add smouse, that you were absolutely tickled pink to be in the so called "hidden thread" that only had "bar codes" in the title and turned into an answer swap.................what did you say about naming the quiz in the title??? Hypocrite again.

I think you only want the quiz in the title to be sure you don't miss anything.

i agree with you corbyloon when i use google i never get the answer that i want so it is nice to know there is help there if you need it.

Would it be an acceptable idea to both sides if we had an agreement or rule on this site to only request answers X weeks before a quiz closed, or after X weeks that it was announced?

If acceptable, it could only be a 'gentleman's agreement' as it would be impossible to police.

I am not saying that I think this should happen, I am just trying to pour the proverbial oil and wondering what others think.

There's quite an easy answer, isn't there?
If you want to have "a challenge" and not to let others spoil it for you, then don't look under this AB topic until you have finished yours/are ready for help!
I'm sure there are plenty of other ABers who can help in the meantime with other questions.

The same can be said for the Cransley Occupations quiz. I received mine last week, by Thursday evening there were 20+ postings with the best part of the answers. The quiz doesn't finish until September ?. I was deeply disapointed as it seemed pointless after that. The only good thing to come of it is that the charity has received my �1.
