I installed a new microsoft keyboard to replace what I thought was a faulty one , I'm running windows XP and the keyboard is doing the same as the old one i.e. swapping one or two keys around
" becomes @
the # should be the pound sign

any ideas out there ?

try going into control panel then regional settings and languages. in the drop down language make sure its set to english united kingdom
