From NT Scheduler I am executing a VB module, when the module invokes EXCEL I obtain a permision denied (error 70) error. The app works fine if I log onto the server and execute from command prompt, therefore the error must be caused by the context that it is running under ?

check that you have permissions on your workstation to run MS Office. This is why it is ok if you log on to the server but not if you dont. Office is licensed to a group and this is place on the server during installation, if you are not logged on, you will not have permission to use the programs.
