This came on very suddenly. A painful throbbing. Never experienced it before. What could it be?

Hmmm, i had summat similar to this the other week.
I think it was because i was leaning on my right hand awkwardly. Dunno why my chest was hurting.

Well I am not a doctor but I get a pain in my shoulder around time of the month this is due to my ovaries swelling up. Its like a shooting pain and then a dull ache. I usually take Ibruprofen to get rid of pain.

4getmenot, on reading your post I'm wondering if you have endometriosis as I've looked up the symptoms for myself as I have many of them, one of which is shoulder pain.

that was very interesting meglet thank you. I think the symptons listed though are a bit more severe to mine. I can move my shoulder. I have been to doctors and he just said it was just inflamation of my ovaries at time of month, he didnt seem to think this was very serious and I dont get it all the time. Just seemed weird that my shoulder would be connected somehow to my ovaries

4get, you're welcome. I must admit if my doctor had told me my shoulder pain was due to my ovaries I would have been a bit surprised (and somewhat sceptical!)

Hey 4get, it does sound wierd but if you ever have an ectopic pregnancy a pain in that shoulder will develop. Something to do with the pressure of the blood pressig on a nerve. So I suppose its a similar thing with your ovaries, they must get pretty big then.
