For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.*deep breath* Coldplay, Travis, Dido, Damien Rice, Badly Drawn Boy, the Strokes, the Hives, Keane, Snow Patrol, the Stereophonics...I'm aware that my tastes (ie heavy and extreme metal) are somewhat of a minority but even so I don't understand how people can like this sort of stuff. I don't mean to offend any fans of these people...I just don't get them at all.
I will one day hunt down and kill Busted and McFly....I think this will show that they are in fact the same band.
In actual fact I am thinking of pitching this as a new TV series to channel 4....viewers can vote by text which pi$$ poor chart act they want to see me chase down and shoot with crossbow bolts each week....I think it's a winner.
Radiohead overrated? - best band ever!
Headtime, agree with you about Muse
Andy Hughes, Agree with you except for Morrissey.
Handsome, totally agree with you about rap.
sft42 *WAB* In total agreement with you too.
Please forgive this for being the same answer as in the Room 101 question but,
I think Cliff Richard is the most overrated artist in the history of music.
In my opinion, most of the artists listed above have had 1 half decent hit (apart from McFly & Blazin Squad), yes, even Cliff. I remember seeing him in concert in 1990 (thankfully it wasn't just him, Phil Collins, Macca, Status Quo, Pink Floyd (the list goes on) were there too), he was up there in his pink suit, & he had that crowd singing - but no-one was gonna rush out & but his album.
The way the media puts them up there on their pedalstools is beyond belief. They should need at least 5 No 1's before they are classed as 'great' (Westlife excluded)
Will anyone ever be 'up there' with the Beatles? Certainly not in my lifetime

Sorry, but the 5 number ones idea is silly. When the Beatles were getting number ones, it required sales of hundreds of thousands. It now takes about 20-30,000. It's simply not comparable.
Anyway, your method means Pink Floyd and Led Zepplin fail to qualify - they didn't really do singles (PF early on and laterly, but not during their most commercially successful period). Like 'em or loathe 'em, I think you'd agree they're amongst the greats!

I'd agree with MOST of the answers given above (but poor old Badly Drawn Boy? Leave him alone, bless 'im), and I would like to add to the list Phil Collins, Bjork and *grits teeth* Craig ****ing David (those are my asterisks, not Answerbank's).
In answer to sft42, I see I'm not the only one to believe that McFly and Busted are one and the same. Spooky. Of course, McFly could just be a tribute act, but I'm sure the short blond one with dark eyebrows from McFly is just the tall blond one with dark eyebrows from Busted crouching down a bit.
