Car making 'funny' noise

In true female style, I'm going to describe whats wrong with my car in the hope that some psychic out there can diagnose it !

well its making a squeeling sound and it sounds like its coming from the engine - in front of the driver. it only starts about 5 minutes after i start driving and stops when i brake. And its only appeared since my mot, 3 weeks ago.

Any suggestions?!

Please don't give to many clues will you! Even my crystal ball is struggling with this one. It's possible you have a slightly loose belt. Open the bonnet and sprinkle a little bit of talc on the belts and then run the engine. If it is a loose belt this should stop it from squeeling for a while. The belt will still need to be tightened or replaced though.Worth a go.
