How far along am I?

Hello,
I just found out I am pregnant! I am very excited! This is our 2nd child. My son is 4 years old so it has been some time and I forgot alot. I missed my period on Aug. 1st and of course had a normal one on July 1st. I was told by my doctor that my hcg level is 418 and I am 5.5-6 weeks pregnant. How could this be if I had my period 5 weeks ago? I tried to have her explain it but I really did not understand. Anything to help me better understand this would be great and appreciated!

I put in the dates you gave into a due date calculator and that too says you are about 5 weeks. Congratulations!

Im also expecting my second baby (my daughter will just have turned 7 when I have mine) and I feel like its the first time! I have found this site to be a good trip down memory lane and bring it all back!

Congrats to you both, I have just found out that I am 6 weeks pregnant but am going to doc's tonight to get it all confirmed and all. Oh, and it really is my first time!
