Travelling abroad

My boyfriend is currently serving a sentence for GBH with intent. Please can anyone let me know whether he will experience problems travelling abroad in the future. My sister lives in New Zealand so we often travel through Asia and Australia.

I would think it is highly likely that in those places you will have a problem. If you search the internet for entry or visa rules you should get an indication, but doing a quick google gave the following reference for Bahrain, which clearly will not grant entry for those with criminal records.

Australia has a good character definition which would almost certainly bar him if his sentence was long enough
