cape wrath weird ending or what

What do people make of the ending last night in cape wrath? Eddie just driving off like that at the end and where was he ? looked like he was in the nevada dessert or somewhere? very weird. Nothing was explained in the end? is there going to be a new series or is that it?

and surely the most you could have seen was episode 6/7 as last nights channel 4 one was episode 5/7, so E$'s wuld have been 6/7.

i watched it ,i think the point was that they'd had this whole plan to leave, but you know at the start they had to wear blind folds .. so they wouldnt know where they were .. and i think it was part of the whole "you can't escape meadowlands" thing .
i think the next series will be good ... did anyone else think that this series was a bit short ?
