Good looks or good sense of humour?
19 Answers
Many times I have heard girls say they look for a sense of humour in a fella more than anything. Is this true? If it is, imagine im standing in a pub with Brad Pitt (fit but YAWN) and also with me and Brad is Ken Dodd (complete with his hilarious feather duster) who would you give your number to?

Dunno. Neither really does it for me.
I don't really have a physical type but if you can make me laugh then that's always very attractive. I tend to think if you're drawn to someone (which I usually am by sense of humour and an IQ) then you'll find something attractive about them anyway.
Mind you... I've been single for a bl00dy long time... ;0)

humour every time and i believe if you fall for the pesonality you will grow to find their looks very attractive anyway . It sort of all comes hand in hand.
I have been out with a couple of chaps over the years who were, in my opinion, gorgeous. Other than that though, they did nothing for me and at the end of the day, you get used to how they look and need something a little more than that to sustain your interest!

Hmmm, i agree with silversky.
I have been with some very good looking women believe it or not, but i get bored very quickly.
If they have no personality then i get turned off pretty quick. It annoys me sat in the same room as some dippy woman who doesnt have more than a couple of seconds of convo in them, or who just laughs at everything you say whether they understand it or not.
I think people go for looks first, then if that person is marriage material then they have got to have a good sense of humour.
But obviously, everyone is different.
There are a couple who live near me who just so dopey and miserable all the time, but they have been together over 6 years that i know of...

I don't think it's a case of shallowness. You're attracted to what you're attracted to.
Personally I know that my eye can be drawn by the bloke making everyone laugh (without being a loud mouthed buffoon in a clown suit obviously). Physical attractiveness will only be noticed once someone has caught my attention.
Although extra points are awarded for certain northern accents admittedly.

I'm with someone who I first met on an online chatroom... I was attracted to her sense of humour, feistyness and intelligence... we laughed loads. When we did eventually meet - to be honest - she wasn't my usual cup of tea 'physically' (I've always gone for pale skinned blondes in the past whereas this lovely lady is more olive skinned with dark hair). My point is: if I had first seen her in a pub/bar etc. I probably wouldn't have been interested (yes, shallow perhaps)... but now we have met a few times I am finding her more and more physically attractive... her personality won me over and I've grown to love 'all' of her...
beryllium - I would say im neither really, not particulary good looking but not hilarious either. I love a joke and a laugh as much as the next bloke. I would be the quiet average one that gets overlooked everytime! People say I have a very dry sense of humour, and to be honest I haven't got a clue what that means but don't like to ask.
Chinadoll - I thought I was a bit weird for liking people just because of their accent! Glad im not the only one, its N.Ireland and Geordie thats does it for me. Why? I don't know!

Richkent, your theory falls down because you use Ken Dodd as an example of funniness!
I love, for example, Phill Jupitus, who I don't think is everyone's cup of tea. I would rather shack up with Peter Kay or Victoria Wood than <insert name of "attractive" celebrity here>
Are you hndsome AND funny Richkent? Or are you not included in the number-giving?!
