bird id

[Filbert]

This morning we saw a bird that we have never seen before and I was wondering if anyone could help identify it.
It was smaller than a pigeon. The body was black and white hoops and the head and shoulders were bronze coloured. It had a huge spike of "hair" coming out of the top of its head (going up and back) and a very long beak. (I live in Spain if that helps).

Neither was the bird that Filbert saw

sorry, i thought of a hoopoe with the huge spike of hair, but when i saw the body was black with white hoops discounted it.
