Is anyone here using Virgin broadband?
9 Answers
If so, can you advise me? how has the service been? I have heard so many horror stories about them, but the idea of cable broadband is very appealing, as we live in an area that can only barely get ADSL, (even now!) Also, can you tell me exacly what connecting to cable broadband entails? we have the cable outside in the front garden, but our PC is on the opposite side of the house, where does the modem go?
Any facts, opinions or rumours much appreciated!

PS dont try the phone helpline, they keep you waiting for up to an hour

hello, i had mine fitted about a month ago and everything has been fine. i had a wire in my front garden and they drilled a hole through my bedroom wall, put it all the way round the skirting board so you cant even notice it and then drilled a hole in my back bedroom wall and put it in there. the guy even hoovered up his own mess and was really helpful
I've had cable for years. No problems at all.
The television cable goes through the wall into the living room.
The telephone cable goes through the wall in to the hall. (Now unused)
And the broadband modem goes through the wall in to the loft, where I asked for it.
They put everything exactly where I asked for it to go.

The install for me was a pain. I think the original 'engineer' didn't know how to setup the phone. Promised to come back the day after to sort it out, but never showed. Couple of phone calls later (I was well practiced at complaining having dealt with Pipex Homecall) another engineer showed up and sorted it out in half an hour. That was January, no problems since.
