I suffer from severe headaches lasting 3 days at a time. The pain starts on one side of my nose and moves up to behind my eye socket ,always on the same side. General painkillers do not seem to help. Any remedies or suggestions most welcome. Thanks

Sounds like sinus problems. Speak to your pharmacist or try Sinutab.
Sounds like migraine in which case try Migril tablets and if that doesn't work, Imigran might help. However see your doctor as an x-ray would exclude sinus problems.
It does sound like it is a sinus problem as Ethel said, or it possibly could be a Migraine.
Sinutab is very good for sinus pain as is steaming of the nasal passages. Stick a towel over your head over the sink. This often clears some of the nasal passages.
Maybe you need to get it checked out by your GP.
