Either Malaga Airport (code AGP) or fly into Gibraltar (GIB) and cross the frontier into spain.

For flights into Gib its either www.ba.com or www.flymonarch.com

Malaga is the nearest. If you fly into Gibralter it is usually B.A flights and they are limited and expensive. Try jet2 and try to book your own hotel or try looking at www.holidayrentals.co.uk
You will be suprised how cheap you can have a holiday. Not paying there comissions

thanks 4 your answers. torn between there and marbella. going end of august for 1 week. need some relaxation as well as some nite life 25 years of age plus. i have heard puerto banus is mainly 4 the local rich and marbella will give more options. your thoughts. please

You have loads of choice along this part of the coast.
Best start is to fly to malaga - Easy jet etc , then cross the road from the airport to the station and get the train to fuengirola - about 25 minutes and 3 euros. Fuengirola is great for sun, sea, food and all nightlife. You could then bus on to Marbella - about 40 mins by bus or even then onto puerto banus - but as you say that is all well but "very snobby" and rather exclusive!
