Hi! I'm about to jet off on my hols and just wondering whether aftersun is really needed? I have used it once or twice but most times I just take my regular body moisturiser. I'm looking to prolong my tan and keep my skin moisturised but is it best off to just use a regular moisuriser? ?????????
I reckon any moisturiser is just as good... I havnt used an aftersun in a couple of years..Just a cooler if a little burnt then body lotion. Sometimes a tan sustainer tho'.
A good moisturiser is fine, but after-sun products work that little bit better as they soothe any burning, particularly the ones containing aloe vera. They also reduce any red patches. The sun abroad can be particularly vicious, so don't expose yourself for too long at a time. Good old E45 is cheap and moisturising, but anything that's perfumed can sting burnt areas of your body, so I always invest in a bottle of after-sun these days. Have a great holiday!
i took an aftersun gel with aloe vera and witch hazel in it and it really meant that my tan has lasted longer and my skin didn;t dry out too much, a gel is so cooling too, better than a lotion, and if you have a fridge in your room u can keep it in there too lol you will jump out your newly burnt skin but it is very very good when cold!
If you have naturally dry skin use boots aqueous cream which goes on white and then schloops in to the skin if you give it 5 mins. unless you want to use a 'prolong tan' aftersun, this is just as good...
