What are the planning rules concerning wind turbines in residential areas? The turbine in question is 13m high and has a blade diameter of 2.5m - my neighbour wants to put two of them at the end of his garden, and my house is just behind that. Is there a minimum distance from other houses? Generally, how do planners feel about them? Are there 'nice' and level headed arguments that we can use to object? Thanks! :-)

What an awful thing to have to think about, let alone live with! I truly hope you succed in stopping this madness.! A
'nice' way to try to stop this is by asking what happens when there is no wind? Where do you live?- not on Dungeness, not half way up Scafell Pike I'm sure, where there might be a case for wind power. in truth there little case for wind power anywhere for the very reason that on calm days the power lost by idle wind turbines has to be generated by conventional power stations.
Good luck!! Get the support of your other neighbours, too!
