many years ago a guy from yorkshire tv found this elderly lady farming all alone in the dales. i think he was called barry ******** and when a series about her existance was shown on tv it was a smash hit . as a result she became famous, packed in farming and did numerous travel shows. there my knowledge ends. nothing much on the major search engines ie when was this, is she still alive etc. im sure so of you will have more info. in anticipation many thanks informashun

google "hannah hauxwell" and you should find information on her, and the 2 tv documentaries in which she featured, the 1st in 1973, the second almost 20 years later.

I understand she was still living in Cotherstone (near the farm she used to work) earlier this year.

No I think she died a year ortwo ago - ie very recently

and I also thought she had kept the farm on
no water no sewae
until recently
