I have just had my first scan and it still hasnt sunk in! lol The babys growth is "spot on" as the man doing the scan put it. It was either very well behaved or very lazy as it barely moved. The man was trying to get it to move to get different views but the baby wasnt interested. It just laid there with its hands in front of its face and its feet crossed not giving anything away! The only time it did move was when it was supposed to stay still to have the blood flow measured! We got to listen to the heartbeat as well which was nice and strong and healthy.
So everything is going according to plan and baby is doing well.......oh.....and there is definately only one! lol
Congratulations, it is very magical isn't it. My first was also like that during his scan - he also slept all the way through 36 hours of labour and a c-section! He slept through the night in hospital and apart from an odd few occasions when he hasn't been well, he has slept ever since. He is now 7 and still sleeps for 11 hours every night - he is now 4 foot 3, so his sleep is obviously doing him some good. He is a very chilled calm boy, so hopefully it is a good omen! lol
Ahhh first scan is possibly the most nerve racking because you worry about the multiple pregnancy thing. I remember going fr both of mine and thinking I am going to kill myself if its twins.
awww bless you Psychick, it's truly awe inspiring isn't it? Was you terrified all the way there thinking "what if they can't find it, there's no baby there at all?" Or was that just me when I had mine?
Yup Boo I was the same lol I was so relieved when the baby appeared on the screen straight away! I was expecting the man doing the scan to have to hunt around for the baby! lol
I actually wouldnt have minded if it was twins because I think my boyfriend would like one more after this one and it wouldve been good to get it all over and done with considering I am not enjoying this pregnancy! And the past couple of days, the sickness has got worse not better!
So pleased for you Psychick, it's the most wonderful tiime for you.
My bubba was exactly the same and would not move so the guy performing the scan told me to pop outside to the vending machine grab a can of coke (not diet) drink it and he would scan me in 15 minutes.
Woweee baby was somersaulting all over the place !!!
Bear that in mind next scan.
I used to get a little paranoid some days that I didn't feel movement so the can of coke and mars bar trick worked everytime. Not the most healthiest of snacks I know but it had it's place.
Fuzzy x
Thanks fuzzybee! I will keep the coke trick in mind :) When I had scans when I was expecting my daughter.......she wouldnt sit still! Totally the opposite to this one!
