whatever you do do not call the helplines they are quite simply- morons.
anyway- i got every single wireless router available- linksys, belkin etc etc and could not get any of them to work with tiscali- something about the modem supplied by tiscali- there are not enough ports.
it will drive you absolutely mental.
me and my girlfreind use the internet in the living room- we both have laptops-
what we have had to do in order to use the internet at the same time is-
tiscali installed on both laptops- but the modem only installed on the one laptop (the speedtouch thing)
the computer with everything installed is referred to as the main one-
the main one turns on and connects to the internet , turn off its firewall- then connect the 2 laptops via a networking cable- sadly its not wireless but the network cables are available up to about 7 metres long -
this is a hard way to do it and annoying and defeats the object of being wireless- but it is the onlyway i have found in order for them both to be online simultaneously.
my main advice,
serve out the 12 month contract with tiscali, then sack them and go elsewhere- aol / bt/ sky etc but whatever you do, do not call them as they dont know a single thing-
the so called technical department know absolutely f### all.
and will just cost you time and cost of phone call- they are pure idiots and i think , inbred.

I have Tiscali wireless broadbank with a laptop and a desktop connected. I have a D-Link router which also replaced the modem.
My desktop PC was already using Tiscali broadband (wired) before I got the laptop and router.
I had to set up the router on my desktop PC which I did with the ethernet cable. Once it was working and connecting to the internet ok, I removed the cable and used it wirelessly (with a usb dongle).
Then I installed the Tiscali broadband software on my Laptop and then the router software. Hey presto it connected.
I have none of the problems mentioned by pianoman81, I am able to use my laptop and desktop at the same time without wires and without disabling firewalls etc.
I do agree about their helplines though, don't bother ringing them they are cr*p!
