So, light can travel faster than er... itself..?

http://news.google.co.uk/news?hl=en&q=speed%20 of%20light&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&um=1&sa=N&tab=in I saw this the other day and thought it was fascinating, though it appears that its all a matter of definitions: http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2007-08 /ns-lst081607.php Bet it had a few people worried though!! ;-) However, might this discovery theoretically lead to a rethink about such things as space travel?

No. They're mixing group velocity and phase velocity.
