Nobody's perfect... a suitable story for a 6 year old
8 Answers
I am looking for a suitable story to tell a six year old girl who is getting upset when she doesn't understand 100% first go which then leads to her worrying and crying. Ideally a kids story that will let her understand that it is ok to make mistakes and not understand ....can anyone help with a suggestion?

Blue, i've been trying to answer your q for days, but answerbank only lets me in on a whim. I'm a great one for grabbing a book, however, in this case, I point out that she will learn more from example. Deliberately do silly things and make mistakes and laugh about it, make a game of it and she will learn to be self-assured. This will be one of the greatest gifts you can give her! My little over-acheiver is now 25 and attended her first day of university quite happily in her pyjamas, because she had overslept.
It may be hard to think of them, but come up with examples of your own mistakes and times when you didn't understand (e.g did you take you driving test more than once). she should feel better knowing everyone ain't perfect but otherwise chicken suop for the soul (the kids version) has some excellent stories which are divided into sections so you can easily select diferent themed stories.
i knoew this isnt an answer to your question and i dont mean to take up space but i was exactly like that as a child i still am. but she will understand in time so dont think it will last forever. i hope that put ur mind at ease abit. you could make up your own story maybe? just make sure she doenst feel alone and tell her that some other poeple are like her to :) shes not alone. im sorry if this is usuless, i understand where your coming from. :) x
