Yes orgasms do make the womb contract and semen does contain a hormone that causes the cervix to start opening BUT they are only going to cause things to happen if the baby is ready to be born anyway.

Thats why women have sex to try and induce labour when they are due and yet its not sure fire way because it doesnt work unless the body is ready.

Sex is generally safe during pregnancy unless there is a history of miscarriage.

im 28 weeks and 4 days and we havent stopped.......although it is getting very awkward with a growing belly in the way! and it puts me off when it moves so we have to wait til its asleep!
I agree with someonesgirl, it does get rather difficult to manage towards the later dates anyway lol
I had sex throughout pregnancy. The only babies who came 'early' were the last two..both times I went into labour a day after sex, and both babies were 36+ so basically considered full term.

Generally sex during pregnancy is considered not only safe but incredibly good for you. The uterus contracting is good practice, and later on you may find an orgasm can bring on Braxton Hicks contractions which are a little uncomfortable ~ but no need to worry!
I am the opposite, 22 weeks pregnant and too scared to have sex. I had bleeding in the first 12 weeks and now I just don't want anything to go near anywhere that the baby is occupying. Mad I know and hubby is being very understanding. I might give it a wee go this weekend though, now I am getting more and more confident in the pregnancy. Fingers crossed.x
