Can anyone point me in the right direction for car insurance for a learner driver? My daughter turns 17 at the end of the month and I've been looking for some car insurance for her. I've been on Confused, GoCompare and the Money Supermarket but they won't let me proceed because after entering her date of birth, they say she has to be 17 to proceed. I'd like to get a quote NOW to start on her 17th birthday!
Try Diamond, all insurance will be high because of her age but when i was this age i tried lots of insurance companies but found Diamond to be the cheapest!
Don't add her a s anamed driver for two very good reasons:
1. She won't earn her own NCB, and so her insurance will be high regardless of when she starts
2. This is fronting - obtaining a pecuniary advantage is against insurance practice, and when you're found out, they have every right to void the policy and keep all the premium.
Not meaning to sound petty (but it's difficult to put it into words otherwise), but the initial question suggested getting insurance for a learner driver, and not putting a learner driver on an existing policy, so I assumed it's her car and not her father/mother's car.
If it's someone elses car, then obviously adding her as a named driver is acceptable
