Did lots of ambient stuff but look out especially for Music for Airports (used in the recent Orange 'dancers' ad) and Apollo and Atmospheres (used hundreds of times in ads and tv progs.)

I have to agree with Brian Eno as being great stuff. Also Steve Roach, Harold Budd and Tangerine Dream are very good. There is a great selection of free ambient tunes (rather the songs) available for download here. I particularly like the artist resonant drift. Give them a go. What is there to lose?

"Selected Ambient Works 85-92" by Aphex Twin is an ambient masterpiece.

"Selected Ambient Works II" is also a fine album.
