ipod and limewire

I have just downloaded music from limewire and it has gone onto a shared folder on my itunes. How do i get the music from the shared folder into my itunes library?

easiest way to get files into itunes without moving where the file is actually saved (e.g. keeping the music in your shared folder so that others on limewire can download it from you)
is to open itunes and also open the shared folder - highlight the music files you want to add (select all in file makes it nice and easy) then drag these onto the itunes window - then drop them anywhere in the library... you should then see itunes updating and the songs will then be listed

thanks IggyB I tried the select all and dragging bit but that didn't work. Mu husband sat for 4 hours trying to do it last night and only some of them were compatible even though they were all MP3.

In iTunes, select File, then from the drop down "Add file to library". This should open a dialogue box in which will be listed your downloaded songs. (Limewire puts songs by default into "Shared"). Highlight the song you want then select Open, the song will be imported to iTunes and (I think ) converted to play there. If you have a lot of songs, go to the shared location, make a new folder and in the previous step on the drop down, select Add folder to library. Select the aforementioned folder and all the songs you previously moved into it will be moved into iTunes.
