Whenever I try to download anything on Limewire, the download rate is only 1 or 2 kbs a second and the track will stop downloading at 1%, I'm on broadband and this problem has only happened during the last month.

I've tried uninstalling and re installing to no avail, anybody got any ideas?

Do you have a firewall? if so, maybe its stopping limewire from being able to download.
The trouble with any peer to peer service like Limewire is that while you may have Broadband, the computer you are downloading it from may not.

Even if it does, the upload rates on Broadband are typically half of the download rate and also you may not be the only person downloading from their pc so the amount of bandwith is shared even further.

I would recommend either trying another search and using a different host pc or just leave your computer to it and let it takes its own sweet time.
the best downloading service is bearshare.try that!
I have heard that P2P such as limewire is under attack from various ISP's etc... who don't like it too much, maybe this is causing the slowdown in the network ?
Companys like 'overpeer' post millions of fake files on P2P networks to discourage file sharing of copyrighted material. It is possible that the files you are downloading are incomplete ones, so never finish downloading. Install a program like 'Peerguadian 2' to block the IP's of these fake companies, aswell as the copyright monitering organisations. and you should suffer no more.
There is just so much to download! Whether I want hip hop, R&B, jazz, Rap, Country, trance, techno, alternative and rock music/movies, they have it all. Great product!. Try it http://www.kazaa-platinum.com
