Where does the phrase "whatever's meant to be, will be" come from? I think I first came across it in a lit book but is it an actual proverb?

sounds a bit like Que Sera Sera , loosely translated from spanish Whatever Will Be Will Be

I'm sure you mean 'que sera sera' - 'whatever will be will be'. It was the title of a song sung by Doris Day in an Alfred Hitchcock film 'The man who knew too much' in 1956.

You talk about saying, "what's meant to be, will be" and "If it's meant to be, then so be it, I'm okay with that." But, if we have the power to manifest anything we desire into our lives, is there really any such thing as "meant to be", or "God's will", or "Thy will be done"?

There is not some outside force, doctrine, or prearranged destiny asserting itself upon us.
