Getting back to the subject, I went one year and never again.
It was when the police were over zealous and were lashing out. They started chasing us and we ended up running in all directions.
The day started out ok, everybody enjoying themselves, but when a group of lads starting getting too boisterious, the police stepped in.

your chances of being robbed are slim if you don't carry much money and keep it an inside pocket. Your chances of being murdered are practically nil. It is crowded and very noisy, but no more so than your average club, except that it's out of doors and there's spiced goat and so forth on sale.

Hi nannon, I am from Notting Hill, although I don't live there now, I used to go regularly, You just have to be aware of what is going on, there are muggings, pickpockets, drugs etc, I would say just stick to the main streets, don't go wandering down side streets to see what is going on, if you do get surrrounded by a big group of people and feel uncomforatable get away quick, in other words keep your wits about you, the carnival is great and most that go are at it to enjoy it, so go and enjoy it,Ray
