How much to fix a this problem?

Hi, I was playing with the idea of buying an old mini cooper, but apparently it hit the curb and has damaged the front dive shaft on the passenger side. Driveshaft out of gearbox on passanger side?!

Does anyone have a 'very' rough idea on how much it would take to correct this problem?!? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

'Drive shaft' is the CV joint and I'm guessing would normally be around �50 or so plus labour and new CV gaiter (rubber covering that protects the CV joint).

You should also need to check the steering components too as my mum had a mini that had been hit by another car and bounced up the kerb and this bent one of the steering arms.

Maybe an idea to forget that particular one and look for another, there are plenty of them around.

Thanks Cockney, how much do you reckon worst case scenario?! I think the car may be buckled?!?!?

Willing to spend a good few hundred on it.

Rememer that Mini's do not have a chassis to buckle they have sub frames and lots could go wrong with them in a prang.

Although they don't have a chassis to buckle as mentioned, these cars can "twist" quite badly after a hard knock and can end up up "crabbing", which is where the rear wheels are not in line with the front ones. It can usually be seen when standing directly behind the car as it is being driven away from you.
