My son was due to go in for hearing at the police station tomorrow, the police called his solicitor and told her that they have not finished investigation and have moved the date to two weeks 7/9/07. This is the strory of a 24 year old graduate mixed up with some polish girl who got him arrested after the separation for ABH and Harressment. they lived together for 3 months - she had only been in Uk for about 5 months arrived without a job or any money or any support. She found my son and asked him out, he was so in love with her but she used him and then cheated on him. he told the police that he slapped her and called her many times, he was due to go in tomorrow for a decision by police but they have postphoned it until 7/9/07 for further investigation - please advise us why ?? we are devestated and waiting is killing me as a mother and my son who has never been in any trouble. PLEASE HELP ME

Not much you can do till 07/09 but i would advise you to try and chill. When your son goes back on 07/09 it will be decided then whether or not he will be facing charges as anything this girl has reported him for. In the meantime stop panicking, it might come to nothing, which if he is innocent I sincerely hope it does. Good luck

yesterday he didnt do it and today you say he's admitted hitting and harrassing her ... are you sure he's telling you everything?
perhaps it is as simple as they are dong more investigating? ie seeing if her story holds up.
anyway, if he has admitted it i cant really understand what they are investigting now, they should just go ahead and prosecute. maybe they are seeing if it is in the public interest to go forward

well if she has only just come in the country ? and your son says he done it ? why r they still investigations going on ? well i think she has just come over hear for a partner to stay in the country and they carnt find her so they carnt close the case ...your son has been a fool ..slapn a girl is out of order ! he neads to walk away from a problem !.

get incontact with his solicitor and ask him .. no demand him to ask the police were they r upto in there investigations and to ask him to contact the p.c officer that is doing the case... they have to tell him how far they are in the case.. your son has been a fool and a mug....

what is up with you? Dont you agree with me that people who hit other people should be punished by the law? i tried to answer the best i could with the information you gave me. As you have now said the information was wrong, you should just discount my answer, as it was given in the belief that your son had hit and harrassed the girl. He didnt; good for him (i would have been sorely tempted)
i cant understand why you have taken such umbridge at my answer, given in good faith with the information available. My answer would still stand if your son had done it ... but he didnt so my answer dosent stand does it?
as for leaving, well thats up to you, but you are right this site is good for answers to q's so you are only cutting off your nose to spite your face if you leave: nobody will care or even notice probably, and you wont have access to answers anymore.
I have a q myself, something that has always puzzled me, as an atheiest Why do people describe themselves as god fearing? why would you fear a benevolent being?

If you hit someone you deserve to be punished but of course mums don't like to think their (boy) children would ever hit a woman

I believe in Jesus, but I am not in fear of Him and TBH, whether the family is a christian/God fearing or not does not mean the son is too
