Ok, in my opinion. I think it means...the person hes referring to 'doesnt get out much' like hes frightened, like on the video. Meaning he hasnt left bed so hes bed-shaped and he has legs of stone cos he hasnt gone anywhere?! i dunno...

okay... the whole song is about the guy in question desperatly seeking the acceptance of others, he's been away from the world due to his own fear, like a hermit, finally he masks his fear with clothes and goes into the world, however, as he sees everyone they accept him and show their true ugliness as a society. Meaning that it's better not to be accepted. As for bedshaped and legs of stone, i think that would mean he's been in his own world and can't walk properly, i/e functioning in society. I love that song...:)
