securing my pc

Can someone please tell me how i can stop anyone else from useing my computor. I'm not up on how to put a password on it to stop others going on sites that i'd rather they did'nt. preferabally i'd rather keep them off it all together but don't know to go about this.

i'm assuming you are running a windows operating system.
go to the start button in the bottom left-hand corner, follow the link to the "control panel", then go to user accounts.
once here select edit account or add account - while setting this up you will be asked whether you want to add a password, this will then require you to ender the password when you switch the computer on
