Hurricane Dean

Can anyone out there tell me if the hurricane hit Playacar Mexico & is the Riu Palace Mexico Hotel, O.K., as I am going there in a couple of months & don't fancy an en-suite tent.

Playacar is the area just to the south of Playa del Carmen. This is about 40 miles south of Cancun. The eye of the storm came ashore about 80 miles further south than that.
Suggest you talk to the hotel to find out what happened and how serious any damage is. Last year when I went, things were all working but they were still repairing damage from Wilma the previous year, in and around Carmen.
