what the sayings they write on graves are called and if so does anyone know any like I remember one we learnt in school which wa Something and then the last line was Cursed be them man who removes these bones" I cant remember who it was for though...I think it ws a writers but I'm not sure
The whole of what appears on a gravestone (including the dates, etc), is simply an inscription. The words specifically composed to refer to the deceased person form an epitaph. The epitaph on the gravestone of William Shakespeare is "GOOD FREND FOR JESUS SAKE FORBEARE TO DIGG THE DUST ENCLOASED HEARE.
BLEST BE YE MAN YT SPARES THES STONES AND CURST BE HE YT MOVES MY BONES"
Although not dead and hpefully not for for a long while, I thought I would add that Billy Connolly has once said that he would like his epitaph to include very small writing, in which you would need to stand close to read. You would then read "You are standing on my b@lls!"
