I am renewing my car insurance. I am the main policy owner with 3 named drivers. One of the named drivers has had an accident resulting in the car being written off. When searching for quotes over the internet, do I say the policy holder had made a claim, a named driver has had the accident. Or do I say the named driver has made the claim and had the accident

The claim is on your policy. But you tell them who the named driver was that had the accident. If you are not continuing to put that named driver on the new policy you may not find the premium loaded as a higher risk, but clearly you have lost part of any entitlement to no claims reduction.
