what sciences are essential to become a doctor

i want to become a paediatrician but a unsure on what science A levels i need to take. could somebody please advise.

chemistry is the absolute essential, along with a lot of extra curricular stuff e.g. reading New Scientist. This will show that you are more than just someone who can pass exams. If you can get any work experience in the health service - even just day visits, it will help a lot at interview and on application forms. If you're mathematical/logically minded, Physics is a good option. Biology is not essential and neither is Physics, but I recommend you take one of these. Good luck.

Most universities require chemistry and biology, though some just ask for chemistry. Have a look at some university websites, they show entry requirements.
