3 Answers
I just bought a tank with a light and a water pump, set it up for a week and today bought my first 2 goldfish, (well one goldfish and one 'Sarasa Comet' according to the reciept lol)
Any tips on how often to feed/clean them etc? I want the wee souls to be happy :-)

We fed them once a day, and I used to clean the glass with one of those magnetic things and the filter weekly using some water out of the tank so as not to lose any of the goodness in the water, and replace a third of the water every two weeks or so. I also heard that you should leave the tap water to stand for 24 hours or so before you put in the tank, and used a water purifier liquid. We still have some of the fish in our pond now, 10 years later and going strong.

Put some food in the tank.
Walk away.
Come back in 4 minutes - if there is still food in the tank, then you are overfeeding them.
As for water changes / filter cleaning - do as jules says - partial water change every two weeks and clean the filter ONLY in water removed from the tank - NOT tap water. Treat tap water with a water conditioner before adding to the tank.
Finally, enjoy watching and keeping yor fish!
