I can`t recall everything , but the main thing that happened is that Fiona told her dad about tampering with the breaks, she got arrested at the pub during a party for Anna & on the way out she screamed that her dad was also Anna`s father. Tom saw her being taken away by the police. Oh yes, the wire cutters are still around, she did not give them to Tom as she "promised".

fiona found out that tom was taking anna and family to botswana. she said he was taking her. Tom convinced police what she was capable of. Was released on bail from cops and went round to the chase. She held a scalpel to sarahs neck and threatened to kill her. (cut her slightly) Tom burst into the room and got her off sarah, only for her to grab anna. Tom raved on about he never loved her (fiona), and she let go of anna and shoved the scalpel into toms stomach. Hey ho, he collapsed and died in annas arms. Sob sob. Before all that, Matt was upset that anna was leaving.
