I used my switch card to pay for a hotel visit during June. They've just written to me saying they didn't charge me at the time, and will now debit me. I remember hearing about how they cannot charge without permission after two months or something. Does anyone know where I can find such information, and if it is correct?

I beleive that if there is a debt which you acknowledge as true, then you still owe them the money regardles of time (actually there is a 6 year clause). If you don't allow them to charge your switch card, they can reasonably write to you and may actually start charging you more to recover the debt. Easiest thing - if you do owe them the money just allow them to take it. If you do want the hassle / principle matter you can ask them if they still have your switch details after 2 months their data protection policy and why they are keeping these sort of records 2 months after needed.
If you owe them the money then pay it! I bet you knew you had been under charged at the time, and chose to keep quiet in the hope that they wouldn't notice. Just put it down to the fact that you have been found out. PS I would probably have done the same, but you now need to pay up.
