I've seen that the link is Auden but that's it! I've done a couple of the more straightforward ones but have now ground to a halt. 17B, 24A, 22B, 9B, 22A, 25B, 20B 23B and 24B is as follows: "Thomas Stearns Eliot? 10A 2B 23A (which is Wystan Hugh Auden) Go sight www.faculties.literature". Resolution: don't trust us, implies the latter. (3,4,12,8,8,4,1,3,4,6,2,3,4) Help much appreciated.

was just checking a spelling to help some webless octogenarians with the crossword and here's you giving away one answer while asking for the others. What's the prize? a dictionary? Shame on you! Go and work out the rest of the clues for yourself and leave the webless octogenarians a chance to shine
Dr_werewolf
Excuse me, Dr_werewolf, what is your problem? This is a site for asking questions and giving answers and most of us are very friendly and helpful. We know that with the best will in the world we sometimes get stuck, even we septagenarians. For myself, I have several dictionaries and encyclopaedias (most won from crosswords!) and make every effort to solve crosswords before asking for help. This is a pastime and asking for and giving help is not a shooting offence. We cruciverbalists never have a cross word! :-)
Anybody got any idea on 25A Down? "Elizabethan writer to finish in some style more than once? (4)" I've got it as something y something y... "Kyd" was an Elizabethan writer... but "Kydy"...?
