When I was younger I used to go caving on school trips in Derbyshire - I used to love it and now many years on I would like to take my Dad as abit of a one off, so did not really want to join a club or society - does anyone know of anywhere where I could arrange to take my Dad to experience it, but not neccesarily do it again, thanks in advance for any answers,x

All around the Matlock area, you'll find caves to explore. The Derbyshire Peaks AND Dales have magnificent scenery, with caves, hidey-holes, woodland and hills that you can experience on your own - but just be careful. A really fantastic place to stay, is the Gothic Temple at Kedleston. Look up available dates & prices on the internet.
If going by yourself (ie not in on an organised caving trip) them make sure that someone reliable knows EXACTLY where you are going and what time you will be back. In case of accidents you want the emergency services to know where to look for you. Make sure you do contact your reliable person when you get back out of the cave though so that they don't think you are missing where you aren't!
